NOTE

You can delete a custom modification or building block only if the subunit is not currently used in any sequences loaded to the Sequence Manager.

Otherwise, if you try to delete a custom modification or building block associated with a sequence in the Sequence Manager, an error message box appears. You must first modify the affected sequences to remove the subunit before deleting the subunit from the Building Block and Variable Modification Editor.

You cannot delete default modifications or building blocks.

Procedure

  1. In the Oligonucleotide Sequence Editor, select the title bar for the Building Block and Variable Modification Editor.
  2. The Building Block and Variable Modification Editor pane opens, displaying the Oligo Building Block and Oligo Variable Modification areas.
  3. At the bottom of the pane, a table lists all of the custom building blocks and variable modifications.
  4. Existing custom modifications appear in purple in the table.
  5. In the table, select the row of the subunit you want to delete and select Delete above the table.
