For target sequence matching experiments, you can add, delete, or edit sequences using the Sequences Added to Experiment and Global Sequence Reference tables as necessary. See Identification page tables.
Add a new sequence to the Global Sequence Reference table
Procedure
- Select New next to the Global Sequence Reference table.
- The appropriate Sequence Editor opens.
- In the appropriate Sequence Editor, import a FASTA file containing a new sequence of interest or manually enter the sequence and assign the Category as "Intact Protein" (for proteins) or "Intact Deconvolution" (for oligonucleotides).
- See the following topics:
- •Import a FASTA file containing a protein sequence or Import a FASTA file containing an oligonucleotide sequence
- •Manually create a new protein sequence or Manually create a new oligonucleotide sequence
- •Assigning modifications to a protein sequence (for proteins) or Assign variable modifications (for oligonucleotides)
- •Select the experiment category for a sequence
- Save the sequence and close the Sequence Editor.
- See Save a protein or peptide sequence or Save an oligonucleotide sequence.
- The sequence is added to the Global Sequence Reference table.
Edit an existing sequence in the Global Sequence Reference table
Procedure
- Select the sequence row in the Global Sequence Reference table.
- Select Edit next to the Global Sequence Reference table.
- The appropriate Sequence Editor opens and displays the sequence information.
- In the Sequence Editor, edit the sequence information as necessary.
- Save the sequence and close the Sequence Editor.
- The sequence is updated in the Global Sequence Reference table.
Delete a sequence from the Global Sequence Reference table
Procedure
- Select the sequence row in the Global Sequence Reference table.
- Select Delete next to the Global Sequence Reference table.
- A confirmation dialog box appears.
- Select OK to delete the sequence.
- The deleted sequence is removed from the Global Sequence Table.
Add a sequence from the Global Sequence Reference table to the experiment
Procedure
- Select the sequence row in the Global Sequence Reference table.
- Select Add to Experiment next to the Global Sequence Reference table.
- The sequence is added to the Sequences Added to Experiment table.
Edit a sequence after adding it to the experiment
Procedure
- Select the sequence row in the Sequences Added to Experiment table.
- Select Remove next to the Sequences Added to Experiment table.
- Then, select the sequence row in the Global Sequence Reference table, select Edit, edit the sequence information as necessary using the appropriate Sequence Editor, save the sequence, and re-add the sequence to the experiment.
- The edited sequence is re-added to the experiment.
Remove a sequence from the experiment
Procedure
- Select the sequence row in the Sequences Added to Experiment table.
- Select Remove next to the Sequences Added to Experiment table.
- The sequence is removed from the Sequences Added to Experiment table.
Display the full sequence added to the experiment
Procedure
- Select the sequence row in the Sequences Added to Experiment table.
- Select Show Details next to the Sequences Added to Experiment table.
- The application displays the entire sequence in a dialog box.
