After you process an intact mass analysis experiment, you can add or removed the deconvoluted spectra to the Library for comparison on the Spectra Comparison page.

Add a deconvoluted spectrum to the Library

Prerequisites

  1. For an intact mass analysis experiment, you have processed your experiment and are viewing the Process and Review page.

Procedure

  1. On the Process and Review page, verify that the deconvoluted spectrum that you want to add to the Library is currently visible in the Deconvoluted Spectrum pane
  2. Select Add to Library in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. The Add to Library dialog box appears.
  4. In the Add to Library dialog box, type the name of the spectrum in the Spectrum Name box.
  5. You can type a description for the spectrum in the Description box underneath Spectrum Name.
  6. NOTE

If you type the name of an existing spectrum in the Library, the application will overwrite the previous spectrum of the same name with the results of the current experiment.

You cannot overwrite a spectrum in an experiment that is currently submitted to the run queue, processing, or canceling.

  7. Select OK.
  8. The added spectrum appears in the Deconvoluted Spectra Library table on the Spectra Comparison page.
  9. By default, the table sorts the added spectra by creation time (the time when you add it to the library), with the most recently added spectra at the top.

NOTE

The Add to Library command is inactive in the following instances:

(1) A deconvoluted spectrum is not visible in the Deconvoluted Spectrum pane. You must first process the experiment to deconvolve the spectrum and enable the Add to Library command.

(2) If you select a row at the component level in the Results table for multiconsensus or drug-antibody ratio (DAR)-enabled experiment. For DAR-enabled experiments, you must select a row at the raw data file level or charge state level to enable the Add to Library command.

(3) If you change one or more processing parameters using the Real Time Optimization pane on the Process and Review page. After changing the processing parameters using RTO, you must first reprocess the experiment to enable the Add to Library command.

Remove a deconvoluted spectrum from the Library:

Prerequisites

  1. For an intact mass analysis experiment, you have processed your experiment and are viewing the Process and Review page.

Procedure

  1. From the Process and Review page, select the Spectra Comparison tab to open the Spectra Comparison page.
  2. On the Spectra Comparison page, in the Deconvoluted Spectra Library table, select the row (not the checkbox) for the spectrum you want to delete.
  3. TIP

Use the CTRL key to select the rows for multiple spectra.

  4. Select the Delete button to the right of the table.
  5. In the confirmation box, select Yes to confirm.
  6. The spectrum is removed from the Deconvoluted Spectra Library table on the Spectra Comparison page.
