Follow these parameter suggestions to increase the stringency of the ReSpect deconvolution, decrease noise, and produce better results:
- m/z Range: Narrow the m/z Range around the most abundant peaks in the distribution, perhaps those above 10 to 20 percent relative abundance.
- Model Mass Range: Narrow the Model Mass Range to avoid signal arising from harmonics in the algorithm.
- Deconvolution Mass Tolerance: Reduce the value of the Deconvolution Mass Tolerance parameter to make the results cleaner. Specifying this value using the ppm option might also improve results. When you decrease this value, the Delta Mass value for each charge state also drops.
- Minimum Adjacent Tolerance: Raise the value of the Minimum Adjacent Charges parameter.
