NOTE

Thermo Fisher Scientific recommends using Rufus, which is a program for creating bootable USB drives, that can be downloaded here https://rufus.ie/en/.

Procedure

  1. Insert the USB drive into the computer.
  2. Run Rufus.
  4. In Rufus, configure the following settings under the Drive Properties area:
  5. Device: Use the drop-down to select the inserted USB drive.
  6. Boot selection: With the option button set to SELECT, browse for the required iso file.
  7. Partition scheme: Use the drop-down to select MBR.
  8. Target system: Use the drop-down to select BIOS or UEFI.
  9. Keep all default settings under the Format Options area.
  10. Select START.
  11. Keep all default options for any pop-up windows that appear and enter the default selection (OK and Yes).
  12. Wait until the Status area displays 100% READY.
  13. Select CLOSE and eject the USB drive from the computer.
