You can create a new data sync between the Ardia Repository and your PC and pair your selected folders on the Data Sync page of the application. This page also allows you to edit or delete an existing data sync.
Procedure
- Select the Ardia Repository folder to sync by doing one of the following:
- Select Add Ardia Folder to add a specific Ardia folder.
- Select Add Folders to add multiple Ardia folders at once.
- The Pick Folder window opens.
IMPORTANT
The Ardia Platform server must have more than 250 GB of available storage for the Ardia Platform Data Sync application to upload data.
- To locate an Ardia Repository folder, use the folder tree to navigate to a folder location or use the search bar to look for a folder.
- (Optional) In the Pick Folder window, select
to reorder, hide, or show the columns in the search results table.
- In the Pick Folder window, select the checkbox next to the folder name that you want to sync and then select Open.
- The Ardia Folder Path is updated.
TIP
You can double-click the Ardia Folder Path from the sync list to manually edit it.
- Select the type of data transfer for the sync from the Data Transfer dropdown list:
- Select Local To Ardia to upload files from the local folder on your PC to the Ardia Repository folder.
- Select Ardia To Local to download files from the Ardia Repository folder to the local folder on your PC.
- Select the local folder on your PC by doing the following:

- The Windows file explorer dialog box opens.
- Navigate to and select a local folder, then select the Select Folder button.
- The Local Folder Path is updated.
TIP
You can double-click the Local Folder Path from the sync list to manually edit it. If the folder has already been scanned, the Update Local Folder dialog box opens to confirm if you want to either clear the queue and finished logs and sync everything to the new folder path or only sync new files to the new folder path.
In Ardia Platform Data Sync 1.1, you can select multiple folders at once for syncing. However, the maximum number of folders allowed for syncing is 20.
You cannot use the same folder path (including any subfolders) for both upload and download. Additionally, the source folders selected should not have a parent-child relationship.
- (Optional) Select the Start Scan Date area, and then enter a date (YYYY-MM-DD) in the text box or select
to pick a date on the calendar.
- The application is set to sync only files added on or after the specified date.
NOTE
The Ardia Platform Data Sync application only syncs files added on or after the specified start date. The start date can be before or after the sync begins. If no start date is set for a folder, the application syncs all files that have not been previously scanned.
- (Optional) Under Actions, select
to remove folders from the sync list and do one of the following in the Delete Logs dialog box:
- Select Yes to delete the paired folders and remove all related downloads from the queue and finished logs.
- Select No to delete the paired folders and keep the related downloads in the queue and finished logs.
- Select Cancel to keep the existing folder pair.
NOTE
You must stop and restart the sync in the following scenarios:
- The local folders that are uploaded to an Ardia Repository folder that have already been scanned are not automatically synced.
- The files and folders that are copied to the synced folder that have already been scanned are not automatically synced. When the files and folders that are moved to a different location in the Ardia Repository folder, you must re-select the folder for syncing.
Additionally, if you gain access to a subfolder within an Ardia Repository folder that has already been scanned, the files in the subfolder are not synced. To ensure all files are synced, remove and re-select the Ardia Repository folder. This resets the last scan date and prompts the Ardia Platform Data Sync application to perform a full scan.
- To start a sync, select Start Sync at the bottom-right corner.
- The Ardia Platform Data Sync application begins syncing the paired folders and the Start Sync button changes to a Stop button.
NOTE
The sync time varies depending on the size of the folder and your network connection speed. Large scans might take a considerable amount of time.
NOTE
When the Ardia Platform Data Sync application uploads objects to the Ardia Repository and downloads injections or sequences from the Ardia Repository, the Ardia Platform generates corresponding audit entries that can be viewed in the Audit Trail Viewer application on the Ardia Platform.
- (Optional) To stop a sync, select Stop at the bottom-right corner.
- The Ardia Platform Data Sync application stops the active sync and the Stop button changes to a Start Sync button.
NOTE
When you stop an active sync, all pending syncs remain in the queue and resume after you restart the sync. If you want to permanently clear the sync queue and history, you must reset the Ardia Platform Data Sync application (Settings > Reset Application).
