Sort instruments

Use the Sort By option on the Scheduler page to sort the instruments in the Instrument pane to arrange them in a certain order. By default, instruments are sorted in ascending alphanumeric order as follows:

  • Active instruments with more than one child instrument

  • Active instruments with only one child instrument

  • Disconnected instruments

  • Manually added instruments

Procedure

  1. Open the Scheduler.
  2. Select Filters.
    The Filter options open.
  3. Select the Sort By list, and then select one of the following options to sort the instruments by:

    • Current Status

      The instruments can have the following statuses: Running, Paused, Connection Lost, Disconnected, or Empty. Instruments are sorted by Current Status in a predefined order. If more than one instrument has the Running, Paused, or Connection Lost statuses, those instruments are sorted alphabetically by their names. This behavior applies to all status values.

    • Favorite Instrument

    • Instrument Name

    • Next Availability

    • Next Maintenance

  4. (Optional) To stop sorting instruments based on your selection, select Clear Selection.
  5. (Optional) To sort items in reverse alphabetical order, select the Sort By list and then turn on the Order Z-A toggle.

    The instruments are sorted by the selected options.
