The Create Entry function lets the user manually add an entry based on the activities performed on the instrument. These entries can include routine maintenance of devices or other laboratory activities.

The Create Entry function displays options to add a new entry on the Logbook page. The following table describes those options.

Displays the configuration details of the instrument. The + icon allows users to minimize or expand the configuration details of the instrument.

Date of Event

Displays a day from the creation of the Logbook up to the current date.

Event Type

Allows users to select an option to create an event for an instrument using the Predefined event type or Free Text event type.

Predefined Event

Creates an event to record the maintenance tasks that are manually performed on the instruments. Such events are not recorded automatically.

Free Text

Creates an event for an instrument using the Free Text option.

Predefined Event List

Allows users to search the maintenance term in the Predefined Event search box and select the event from the search result.

(Optional) Custom Predefined Event

Allows users to create a custom predefined event type if the user cannot find a maintenance activity in the existing predefined events list.

Maintenance

Allows users to select the corresponding checkbox if the maintenance is performed by a field service technician from Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Instrument

N/A

Allows users to select the configured instruments to create the event for.

Notes

N/A

Allows users to enter a description of the event in the Notes box.

Attachments

Allows users to upload a file or an image.

Displays the name of the user who created the current entry.

Cancel

Cancels the create operation and closes the New Entry dialog box without saving.
