The Logbook page automatically records the entries for some of the instrument events or lab activities. The autopopulated events described in the following table are recorded on the Logbook page of the instrument.

Description

New Configuration

This event contains details of a new configuration of an instrument. This type of event is the first entry created by default in a new Logbook.

Software Installation

This event contains details of the installation of application (such as the Chromeleon CDS). This type of entry is the second entry that is created by default in a new Logbook. Any upgrades to the installed instrument control software are also recorded in events of this type.

Event

This event records activities performed on the configured instrument.

Support Request - Open

This event records the details of service tickets created using the Request Support button. It also includes a link to the Service Bundle ZIP file, which is available for up to seven days after it is generated.

Support Request - Closed

This event includes the details of a resolved service ticket.

Service Bundle Generated

This event records the generation of a Service Bundle. It also includes a link to the Service Bundle ZIP file, which is available for up to seven days after it is generated.

Configuration Change

This event contains details related to any configuration changes to an instrument; for example, if an instrument is initially configured to a data system but is then reconfigured at a later time. These types of events include the following:

  • The initial and updated configurations of an instrument
  • The maintenance history of a known instrument with a configuration change, including auto-populated entries and manual entries
  • Any free-text entry created with the initial configuration of the instrument
