The Spectrum view automatically displays the spectrum linked to the active chromatogram trace and shows the first scan as the default view. As you navigate through the Chromatogram, the application updates the spectrum accordingly. The x axis displays the m/z values, the y axis displays the Relative Abundance, and the peaks are labeled with their corresponding m/z values.
You can add multiple Spectrum views to a workspace.
Procedure
- Open an injection or a raw data file.
- The Chromatogram view and Spectrum view open.
- Select the Spectrum view and Insert spectrum view from the Ellipsis menu, .
- A copy of the active spectrum appears in the new Spectrum view.
- (Optional) To close a Spectrum view, select .
The following figure shows an example of a selected Spectrum view. The Spectrum view's title bar displays the linkage status, for example, the status C1T1 in the title bar of spectrum 1 specifies that spectrum 1 is linked to trace 1 in Chromatogram view. The tilde symbol (~) to the left of the view’s name indicates the active view.

The scan header for the Spectrum view displays the file name, the scan number, the RT, the average number of scans, the NL value, and the scan filter. For more information on scan headers, see Scan Filters and Scan Headers.
You can resize the Spectrum view, by dragging the split bar (appears when you point on the edge of the Spectrum view) to increase or decrease the width.
