You can select an appropriate peak detection algorithm after the chromatographic time range is defined.

Procedure

  1. In the Select Algorithm list, select one of these algorithms:
  2. Genesis—Use for mass spectrometry data.
  3. ICIS—Use for mass spectrometry data.
  4. (Optional) If the Chromatogram view contains multiple plots, do one of the following:
  5. To process all the plots, select the Apply to All Plots checkbox.
  6. To process only the selected plot, clear the Apply to All Plots checkbox.
  7. (Optional) Modify the peak parameter settings for the selected algorithm. For information about the parameters settings for each algorithm, see these topics:
  8. Use ICIS peak detection
  9. Use Genesis peak detection
  10. For information about selecting the manual noise region for the ICIS or Genesis algorithms, see Select the manual noise region
  11. Select Apply.
  12. After the peak detection finishes, the application does the following:
  13. Adds the detected peaks to the peak list in the Peak List view.
  14. Colors the integrated region of the detected peaks in the Chromatogram view.
  15. Draws a baseline under the integration region.
  16. Adds square integration markers at the beginning and end of the integration region. You can change the integration region by dragging the markers.
  17. NOTE

When the instrument method used to acquire the raw data file specifies the compound names of the analytes, the application displays these names above the detected peaks. The instrument control software for the Thermo Scientific TSQ Endura™ and TSQ Quantiva™ mass spectrometers provides this feature.
