The following table defines advanced settings used in the ICIS algorithm for peak detection.
Parameter | Subparameter | Description |
---|---|---|
Manual Noise Region | Checkbox | Specifies a region of the chromatogram that the peak detection algorithm uses to determine noise. |
RT Range | N/A | Specifies the RT range that the algorithm uses to determine noise. The RT range must be within the chromatogram range. |
Noise Method | N/A | Specifies the algorithms for S/N estimation. |
INCOS | Radio button | A single-pass algorithm that determines the noise level of a chromatogram. |
Repetitive | Radio button | A multiple-pass algorithm that determines the noise level of a chromatogram. In general, this algorithm is more accurate in analyzing the noise than the INCOS algorithm; however, it might take longer depending on the data. |
RMS | Checkbox | Calculates noise as a root mean square (RMS). The algorithm uses the peak-to-peak method for the noise calculation. When the Manual Noise Region option is selected, the algorithm automatically selects the RMS option. |
Min Peak Width | N/A | Specifies the minimum number of scans required in a peak. Range: 0–500; default: 3. |
Multiplet Resolution | N/A | Specifies the minimum separation in scans between the apexes of two potential peaks. This criterion determines if two peaks are resolved. Range: 1–500; default: 10. |
Area Tail Extension | N/A | Specifies the number of scans past the peak endpoint the application uses to average the intensity. Range: 0–100; default: 5. |
Area Scan Window | N/A | Specifies the number of scans on each side of the apex that the application includes in the integration area. Range: 0–100; default: 0. |
