In the Data Explorer application, you can move folders, sequences, documents, and composite documents to a different folder.

Prerequisites

  1. Your role must have the required Ardia Core permission to move data in the Data Explorer application. For more information, see Edit Ardia Core privileges for a role.
  2. You must have Full Access permission for the source folder and Can Edit permission for the destination folder to move a folder or its content (documents or sequences). For more information, see Manage folder access.

Procedure

  1. Open the Data Explorer application.
  2. In the content area, do one of the following:
  3. Select one or more items and then select Move to on the command bar.
  4. Select on an item's row and then select Move to.
  5. Right-click an item's row and then select Move to.

  6. TIP

    • You can also use the Cut and Paste commands in the right-click menu, or the equivalent keyboard shortcuts CTRL + X and CTRL + V, to move an item to a different folder.
    • You can select and move a combination of folders, sequences, and documents together.

  7. NOTE

    The Move to command is available when you select one or more items with the Live or Live Archive Incomplete status.

  8. In the Destination of Files dialog box, select the destination folder.
  9. Do one of the following:
  10. Select Move to to move the items to the selected folder.
  11. Select Cancel or to exit without making any changes.
  12. When you select Move to, the Add a Comment dialog box appears.
  13. If you move an item of the same file type and with the same name as the one already in the folder, the application sends an error message stating that there is a duplicate item, and cancels moving that item.
  14. Enter your comment and then select Save.

  15. NOTE

    The Add a Comment dialog box appears only if the Prompt for Comments When Saving toggle is turned on in the Global Settings (according to the audit policy in your organization). See Configure global settings for the Ardia platform.
    The comment that you enter is added to the Comment column of the Audit Trail Viewer. See Open the Audit Trail Viewer.

  16. The Ardia platform sends an in-app notification confirming that the item is moved.
