On the Roles page of the Users and Roles application, you can delete a role.

NOTE

You cannot undo the action of deleting a role.

NOTE

You cannot delete a role with both the Assign Privileges privilege and the Open Users and Roles Application privilege unless another role has both these privileges. At least one role must have both these privileges.

Prerequisites

  1. Your role must have the required Ardia Core permission to manage roles in the Users and Roles application. For more information, see Edit Ardia Core privileges for a role.

Procedure

  1. Open the Roles page.
  2. Do one of the following:
  3. In the Actions column, select Delete for a role.
  4. Select a role and select Delete in the upper-right corner of the Roles page.
  5. NOTE

    If the Delete icon is not disabled, then you do not have permission to remove the role, or the role has assigned users.

  6. In the Delete Role confirmation dialog box, select Delete.
  7. The Add a Comment dialog box appears.
  8. Enter your comment and select Save.
  9. NOTE

    The Add a Comment dialog box appears only if the Prompt for Comments When Saving toggle is turned on in the Global Settings (according to the audit policy in your organization). See Configure global settings for the Ardia platform.
    The comment that you enter is added to the Comment column of the Audit Trail Viewer. See Open the Audit Trail Viewer.

  10. The application immediately removes the role from the Role Name list.
