Raw data file verification ensures the integrity of raw data files in the Ardia Platform. This process confirms whether raw data files have been corrupted or tampered with between the time of their acquisition and the time of their verification.
Verification process
The verification process consists of the following key steps:
- User control: Users with appropriate administrative rights can manage the raw data verification process. This includes enabling or disabling verification and setting the frequency of checks through the Global Settings utility (Ardia Core settings parameters).
- Periodic verification: When enabled, the system periodically verifies raw data files in the background to ensure that they have not changed since their initial upload or acquisition.
- Audit trail: The system automatically records verification failures in an audit trail. These entries are accessible through the Audit Trail Viewer utility using an audit trail query.
Handling verification failures
When a raw data file fails verification, the system takes the following actions to ensure data integrity:
- Detects failures: The system detects file alterations, flags affected files with an icon
in the Ardia Repository. Pointing to this icon shows details of the failure.
- The following image shows an example of a raw data file that failed verification in the Ardia Repository.
- Creates audit trail entries: The system generates an audit trail entry in the Audit Trail Viewer with the following details:
- Audit trail type: Data Applications
- Object type: Injection
- Action: Verification Failed
- Application: Ardia Core
- Additional Information: Raw Data Verification Failed
- File Path: Location of the file in the Ardia Repository.
