At the time of installation, Ardia Core Software comes with a time-limited demo license that is activated when the application is first launched. However, this license has an expiration date. Before this license expires, you need to purchase and activate an appropriate license. For more information about the types of license, see License types.

Without the necessary permissions, you cannot access the Ardia Core applications. If the license validation for a particular application fails, an error message appears, informing you that you do not have the necessary permissions to access the page and that you should contact the administrator.

Users with permissions to operate and manage the License Management utility are provided the license initialization codes for adding licenses. Each license comes with a limited number of user allocations.

Important terms associated with the License Management utility are explained in detail in the following table.

Term

Description

License Initialization Code (LIC)

This code is provided to the user at the time of purchase. This code is used for adding licenses. To know more about adding licenses, see Add a license.

License Request Code (LRC) and License Activation Code (LAC)

If you are trying to activate a license using an Ardia Server that does not have an internet connection, then the server provides you the LRC. You must use this LRC on the Ardia Licensing Portal to obtain an LAC to complete the activation. For more information, see Activate a license offline.

License Deactivation Code (LDC)

If you are trying to deactivate a license using an Ardia Server that does not have an internet connection, then the server provides you the LDC. You must use this LDC on the Ardia Licensing Portal to complete the deactivation. For more information, see Deactivate a license offline.

User allocation

Each Ardia Platform license includes a fixed number of users. Each user can access a single instance of an Ardia Core application at a time. An Ardia Core application opened in a browser counts as a user allocation. If the same application is opened multiple times in the same browser, it still counts as a single user. Similarly, if the same application is opened in different browsers, each opened instance is counted as a different user.

The entitlement is enforced when the user opens an application. When the maximum number of users for an application is reached, new users attempting to open the application see an error message.

The user entitlement is considered free when an open session is terminated.
