In the Data Explorer application, you can copy sequences, documents, and composite documents to a different folder.
Prerequisites
- Your role must have the required Ardia Core permission to copy data in the Data Explorer application. For more information, see Edit Ardia Core privileges for a role.
- You must have Can View permission for the source folder and Can Edit permission for the destination folder to move a folder or its content (documents or sequences). For more information, see Manage folder access.
Procedure
- Open the Data Explorer application.
- Navigate to the folder that contains the items that you want to copy.
- In the content area, do one of the following:
- Select
on the item's row and then select Copy To.
- Right-click the item's row and then select Copy To.
- Select the checkboxes of one or more items and then select Copy To on the command bar.
TIP
To select consecutive items, press and hold the SHIFT key and select the first row and the last row of the items that you want to select.
To select non-consecutive items, press and hold the CTRL key and select each row.
To select all the items in the folder, select the checkbox next to the Name column heading.
TIP
You can also use the Copy and Paste commands in the shortcut menu, or the equivalent keyboard shortcuts (CTRL + C and CTRL + V), to copy an item to a different folder.
You can select and copy a combination of sequences and documents together.
NOTE
The Copy To command is available when you select one or more items with the Live or Live Archive Incomplete status.
- In the Confirmation dialog box, select the destination folder.
- (Optional) Select Cancel or
to exit without making any changes.
- Select Copy To to copy the items to the selected folder.
- The Add a Comment dialog box opens.
- Enter your comment and then select Save.
NOTE
The Add a Comment dialog box opens only if the Prompt for Comments When Saving toggle is turned on in the Global Settings (according to the audit policy in your organization). See Configure global settings for the Ardia Platform.
The comment that you enter is added to the Comment column of the Audit Trail Viewer. See Open the Audit Trail Viewer.- A status pane opens at the bottom right of the Content area and displays the status of the ongoing copying process.
- (Optional) Cancel the copying of files as follows:
- Do one of the following:
-To cancel the copying of all the files in the queue, selecton the progress bar.
-To cancel the copying of individual files in the queue, selecton the progress bar and then select
of the individual file that you do not want to copy.
NOTE
The
button is unavailable if there are no items in queue.

- If you select Continue, a message confirming the cancellation of the copying process is displayed.
Result
- When the copying is complete, the progress bar closes and the application sends an in-app notification confirming that the copying is successful.
