Privileges are essential to role-based access control, which defines the actions that users can perform within a system. By assigning privileges to roles, administrators can control access to different features and functions based on user responsibilities. Privileges typically include permissions to view, edit, delete, or manage data. This approach ensures that users have access only to the resources necessary for their role, which helps maintain security and compliance. It also streamlines user management by associating multiple users with predefined roles that dictate their level of access.
The Roles page in the Users and Roles utility displays the currently defined privileges for each role. Privileges are organized into the following three categories:
- Ardia Core privileges: Manage access to the Ardia Data Explorer, Ardia Data Viewer, and Ardia utilities.
- Instruments privileges: Manage access to the Ardia Instruments application.
