In the Audit Trail Viewer utility, you can display audited events, such as user access and data operations.

Prerequisites

  1. Your role must have the required Ardia Core permission to open the Audit Trail Viewer utility. For more information, see Edit Ardia Core privileges for a role.

Procedure

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. On the Home page, select the Audit Trail Viewer card under Utilities.
  3. In the left pane of the Ardia workspace (if pinned), select Audit Trail Viewer.
  4. NOTE

To open an application or a utility from the left pane, you must first pin it to the left pane. For more information, see Pin an application to the left pane from the Home page.

  5. The Audit Trail Viewer utility opens. The default view displays all audit trail types that were generated over the previous two weeks. For more information, see Audit Trail Viewer parameters.
  6. (Optional) Limit your view to specific entry types by selecting one of the following options in the Audit Trail Type dropdown list:
  7. Authentication
  8. Data Applications
  9. External Connections
  10. Global Settings
  11. Instrument
  12. Licensing
  13. User Management
  14. NOTE

If you select All for the Audit Trail Type, it returns entries from all of the Audit Trail types. This could include a large number of results.

  15. (Optional) Limit your view to entries from a specific time period by selecting an option from the History dropdown list.
  16. (Optional) Limit your view to entries that start with specific text by creating a quick query. For more information, see Create a quick query.
  17. NOTE

The history and quick query functionality is disabled when conflicting rules are created in the query builder. For example, the History dropdown is automatically set to Custom and disabled when there is a Timestamp rule in the query builder. Or if there is a non-Timestamp rule in the query builder, then the quick query functionality is disabled.

  18. (Optional) Expand audit entries with additional details as follows:
  19. Select the arrow next to an entry row to expand the audit entry.
  20. The area expands to display possible comments and collapsible tables with additional details (when applicable).
  21. Select the arrow again to collapse the audit trail details.
