In the Data Explorer application, you can delete folders, sequences, injections, documents, or composite documents from the Ardia Repository.

IMPORTANT

When you delete a folder, the folder and all of its contents are removed from the Ardia Repository. You cannot restore a deleted folder nor its contents.

Prerequisites

  1. Your role must have the required Ardia Core permission to delete data in the Data Explorer application. For more information, see Edit Ardia Core privileges for a role.
  2. You must have the Full Access permission for the folder to delete the folder or its contents. For more information, see Manage folder access.

Procedure

  1. Open the Data Explorer application.
  2. Navigate to the folder or the sequence that contains the item that you want to delete.
  3. In the content area, do one of the following:
  4. Select on an item's row and then select Delete.
  5. Right-click an item's row and then select Delete.
  6. Select the checkboxes of one or more items and then select Delete on the command bar.
  7. TIP

    To select consecutive items, press and hold the SHIFT key and select the first row and the last row of the items that you want to select.

    To select non-consecutive items, press and hold the CTRL key and select each row.

    To select all the items in the folder, select the checkbox next to the Name column heading.

  8. NOTE

    The Delete command is available when you select one or more folders, sequences, injections, documents, or composite documents that have Live, Live Archive Locked, or Live Archive Incomplete status. The Delete command is unavailable for synchronized folders, and synchronized sequences, regardless of the status.

  9. The Confirmation dialog box opens, displaying the details of the items you are about to delete.
  10. Select Delete.
  11. The Add a Comment dialog box opens.
  12. Enter your comment and select Save.
  13. NOTE

    The Add a Comment dialog box opens only if the Prompt for Comments When Saving toggle is turned on in the Global Settings (according to the audit policy in your organization). See Configure global settings for the Ardia Platform.

    The comment that you enter is added to the Comment column of the Audit Trail Viewer. See Open the Audit Trail Viewer.

  14. A progress bar appears at the bottom-right of the Content area and displays the status of the ongoing deletion.
  15. (Optional) Cancel the deleting of files as follows:
  16. Do one of the following:
    - To cancel the deleting of all the files in the queue, select on the progress bar.
    - To cancel the deleting of individual files in the queue, select on the progress bar and then select of the individual files that you do not want to delete.
  17. NOTE

    The button is unavailable if there are no items in the queue.

  18. In the Confirmation dialog box, select Continue to cancel the delete, or select Cancel to exit without making changes.
  19. If you select Continue, a message appears confirming the cancellation of the deleting process.

Result

  1. When the deletion is complete, the progress bar closes and the application sends a notification confirming the successful delete.
