The Limit of Detection (LOD) of the UV peptide measurement is 50 ng/µL. This equals to approximately 15 µg of peptide in an output sample of 300 µL volume. Peptide yield can vary by sample type and is usually around 50%. At a yield of 50%, input samples containing less than 30 µg of protein can result in measurements below the limit of detection and thus can be unreliable. Any samples below the LOD are flagged by the system. For any input samples at 30 µg of protein or less, perform a manual offline peptide measurement.
