Statistical power is the likelihood of the analytical approach to detect a significant change when the biology in the study changes.

The estimate is made apriori for each study based on:
- Statistical model assumptions of a two group two tailed T-test with a fixed significance cutoff p=0.05.
- Adjustable values of expected analyte coefficient of variation and minimum biological effect.
- When more than two groups have been defined, pairwise comparisons can be assumed. The group having the smallest n is used for the apriori estimate calculation.
