The wash station is a passive module, without integrated pumps, derived form the standard PAL wash module. It provides two wash positions and a waste position with a waste line connection.
The dilutor syringe, tubing, and needle are washed using the needle wash station. The needle is inserted into a wash port, and the wash solution is dispensed using the dilutor syringe. The internal shape of the wash port directs the wash solution around the needle, so that both the interior and exterior of the needle are washed. Two wash ports are provided. These are typically used to wash separately with aqueous and organic solutions. A third port is used for waste disposal.
