The barcode scanner is a Datalogic Gryphon 2D scanner with a USB interface. It connects to the USB port on the front of the AccelerOme instrument using the included USB cable. It is used to scan the 2D barcodes on the boxes of the AccelerOme kits as an optional validation step to ensure that the correct kit is used. Sample barcoding is not supported.
To use the barcode scanner, hold it in one hand, point it at the 2D barcode, and pull the trigger switch. The barcode scanner illuminates the target area and projects a reticle aimed at the barcode scanner. If the scan is successful, the barcode scanner beeps and projects a green dot. If the scan fails, the barcode scanner beeps and projects a red cross. The data is processed by the instrument software to determine if the scanned kit is valid.
NOTE
There are 2D barcodes used on many parts of the AccelerOme kits that are specific to those parts. Only the 2D barcode outside the kit box is used for kit identification.
