The PAL3 firmware (the software and operating system of the PAL terminal) has three different access levels. Each level displays only specific items and sections of the software. Settings that need to be changed rarely, such as the installation settings, are hidden for Level 1 users (User level) and available at Level 2 (Extended User level). This distinction between the User and the Extended User levels makes the PAL system user-friendly.
The Extended User level is reserved for a limited number of users. This ensures the PAL system and the laboratory environment reliability in which the PAL system is used by minimizing or avoiding accidental changes.
A third level, Service, is reserved for the service technician. This level is used during the installation phase or when servicing or repairing the AcclerOme instrument.
