To connect the AccelerOme instrument to the Experiment Designer application, you need to discover and add the instrument to the software.

Once an instrument is configured, you can transfer method files between the Experiment Designer application and the instrument as well as view the instrument status on the application.

The following conditions must be met:

  • The instrument interface version must correspond to the Experiment Designer version.
  • The instrument and the computer containing the Experiment Designer application must be on the same network to configure the instrument by IP address.
  • The instrument and the computer containing the Experiment Designer application must be on the same subnet over the network for the instrument to be automatically recognized by the application and configured.
  • If an instrument on the same subnet is not automatically discovered, then you can manually add the instrument using the IP address.

Steps

  1. Click Instruments.
  2. Click Discover Instrument.
  3. Select from the discovered instruments on the network.
  4. To discover the instrument from the Experiment Designer software, the instrument and the computer running the software need to be connected to the same subnet on the network.
  5. Check the desired instrument(s) and click Configure All and click Done.
  6. Configuring an instrument for the first time requires logging in to the instrument interface from a pop-up screen on the Experiment Designer.
  7. To configure an instrument by IP address, click Actions, and click Configure by IP address. In the popup dialog box, enter the static IP address and click Configure and click Done.

CAUTION

Sometimes, while discovering an instrument on the network, the firewall prevents access to the correct ports. This makes the instrument unable to be detected. The following TCP/IP ports need to be unblocked by any firewall or routing rules:

43002, 43003, UDP 15000, UDP 15001
