This section describes how to use the Experiment Designer application to create a method file.
Some general terms related to a method file are defined as follows:
Term | Definition |

Statistical Power (SP) | The power of a binary hypothesis test. The probability that the test rejects the null hypothesis when a specific alternative hypothesis is true. Ranges from 0 to 1. |
Study | Consists of one or more factors having two or more values. |
Factor | A categorical (or nominal) independent variable having two or more values selected by the scientist to study the biological system. |
Value | One of two or more categorical (or nominal) states of a factor in a study. |
Factor-Value Replicate Group | Sample replicates having the same factor-value. |
